I have been out a bunch without any luck. I have picked for years and so far this year has been a bust. I have seen other people that are getting PHENOMINAL PICKS and I'm within a couple miles of them and haven't found any. these spots are producers.... I have been on all sides of hills covered alot of miles yet no morels. when I say people have had phenominal picks, I mean a pick up bed full of bags Weighed in at 84 lbs. two guys a couple hours. Guess it's just one of those years...
I hear ya! I have had many successful years in Illinois but I am not having any luck in Iowa Co.
I'm hearing reports of great finds too. I can't imagine the ground and conditions would be that different from what I know. Can anyone share some advice? slope direction/soil type/trees above??? Am I looking too early..I was out all day Sunday and found nothing. I'm down to my last fresh ones from Illinois and I refuse to purchase. Would appreciate feedback.
I have been doing great in SW WI, Grant, Richland and Crawford! I've sent out over 50 pounds already and picked at least 30 myself. Newly dead Elm trees with most or all the bark still on are the ticket for me. Finding even on North slopes now. Have 13 pounds of beauties with nowhere to send them at the moment and been drying and trimming the rest all day. Good luck!
well I'm in Bufflloandtrempealeau counties, and haven't missed an elm on 13 places and still zip... bad part is no one has been to these spots because they haven't been disturbed except from me, no dead soldiers, or stems left behind...

Glad to here you're finding them now!! I've been looking in southern jeuneau and northern sauk co. and have found very few where I usually find large amounts. Guess they're late this year.
