Morel Mushrooms in Rhode IslandApril 24 2011 at 10:26 PM

I moved to Rhode Island from Iowa about a year ago and am wondering if there have ever been any Morels found this far east. I used to hunt them from early to mid May back in Iowa and did not know if there season was different due to the ocean climate or if I was just out of luck. Any help would be useful.

Thanks for answering about morels in RI. I used to go out with my in-laws in Marshall, IL. My husband's aunt had a way of just knowing where they were- she could probably smell them. She always won some prize at the contest they had out there AND she made good money selling them. I'd just like to get enough to make my husband a "mess" of them.
Also as a courtesy to others, please post geographical location when posting sightings (state, county, etc.). Please review all pages for state by state sightings and add your post to an already existing posting - this will make the forum easier for those looking for specific state data.
