Here's the deal....the movement sounds like it's nearly mint & may have sat

Response to 1st. things 1st.


for awhile, so since the caseback was never opened before, the movement gear train may have had just a tidbit of dried-lube on one of the gear teeth which may have broken free after you took the movement out and dislodged itself.

It could have even been a hair or microscopic tidbit on the balance wheel spring which would foul the oscillation, it may be just fine now, but I would recommend a good service by someone you trust and she will be good for another 20+ years!

Good news you got her opened & now she's running.

I was offline for hours wondering when you would call man, now I see why you were tied-up.
