You're right regarding this family of watches, and they were sold here in dive shops. I noticed Beuchat as well quite a while ago and they are the same watch with different name, Candino which I mentioned, are the same as well.

The French Navy is issued them, (Marine Nationale).

I've looked up Beuchat before and there prices are quite reasonable, as were the Eagle Star's.
