little help with a 87250r

i have a 87 250 r when i kick it i get water coming out the head pipe?

Hi Uncle Rob,

There are a couple of possibilities here. Doesn't sound like condensation caused this.

Chances are you probably have a bad head gasket, a crack in the cylinder wall, the head, or a crack that is allowing water from the water jacket, to get to areas its not supposed to be in.

The gasket would allow water into the valve area, and it comes out when you kick it over.

The head may have warped, causing a bad seal at the gasket, and allowing water to get to the valves.

A cracked cylinder would allow water to get into the oil.

Is there any water in the oil?


The head gasket would be the cheapest followed by the head, and then the cylinder.
