Hi I just did a carb cleaning on my 91' TRX250X, I also cleaned out the gas tank & the shut off/reserve gas valve. Now that its back together when I push the throttle all the way open fast, it bogs down and wants to die if I don't back off alittle. If I ease into it or just give it normal throttle it seems to run great. I'm pretty sure this isn't normal, I guess my question is " do I need to adjust the carb to let out less fuel ( or more )now that the jets & everything else are clean"? My air filter is filthy, ( I just got the quad and don't have the foam cleaner yet), but even if I remove the filter the problem is still there. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks, Matt.

Could be a couple of things happening...

Since you cleaned out the carb, the float level could be out of adjustment. Or it may have a crack, and it is allowing fuel to seep in.

There may also be some blockage in the fuel line, since fuel line is cheap, you might want to replace it and see what happens.

You may also need to check the fuel mixture screws. The standard setting is to turn the screw all the way in until it seats, then back it out 2 1/2 turns....

Then continue to turn the screw out 1/4 turn at a time until you reach the desired idle...

This should get you going in the right direction...
