Friends of Wetzel State Park Hosting Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser and
the 11th Annual Park Clean-up in April

The Friends of Wetzel State Park are hosting two upcoming events in
April to benefit the park. First, they are hosting an all-you-can-eat
spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Saturday, April 18, and then a park
clean-up day on Saturday, April 25. Wetzel State Park is located in
Harrison Township in Macomb County.

The fundraising dinner will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Huron Pointe
Sportsmens Association, located at 35800 28 Mile Road in New Haven.
The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 12, and children 5
or under are free. In addition to dinner, participants can expect lots
of fun, guest speakers and a silent auction. All proceeds go towards
park improvements, such as park benches, signage, trees and trail
maintenance.

The Friends of Wetzel State Park have also scheduled the 11th Annual
Park Clean-up for Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The check-in station is located at the end of 27 Mile Road, west of
Werderman Road, at the remote controlled flying field. Lunch and
refreshments will be provided and participants are asked to bring work
gloves, boots, and rain gear.

For more information about these events, or to purchase advance tickets
for the spaghetti dinner, contact the friends group at 586-254-2493 or
586-598-8018, or visit their Web site at: http://www.fowsra.org
For more information about the park, accessibility, or persons needing
accommodations to participate in these events, contact the park at
810-765-5605 (or TTY/TDD711 Michigan Relay Center for the hearing
impaired), or visit: http://www.michigan.gov/wetzel.

**Wetzel State Park is the only State Park in Macomb County. The Friends group there has done tremendous things with rejuvinating and improving this now beautiful Park. Wildflowers, Ponds, a Model Plane airport and well marked trails are just some of the features there at the Park.
