  • A Question

    • Posted Sep 6, 2000 1:30 AM

Here is a question posted one of the discussion groups I'm a part of. Does anybody have an answer for this one?

Anime is everywhere. It's gone from the anime clubs and serious comic
book collectors' stores to almost overexposure. Fox has blocks of anime.
Cartoon Network devotes almost two hours to anime. Everyone under the age
of twelve seems addicted to Digimon and (Barf!) Pokemon (which I hope is
passing into toy-based cartoons oblivion). Even shows like Dexter's
Laboratory and The Powerpuff Girls give nods to Japanese animation. What
brought anime out of the little groups of devotees huddled around the glow
of TV's and VCR's on the college campus to the big time on cable TV and the
big screen (from Princess Monoke to Yeech! The Pokemon Movie and their
      growing family of sequels)?

To anyone interested in pursueing animation as a career it is something it think about
