This may be stretching the definition of allowable topics but here goes

Does anyone collect Chip Hilton books here? I read them all numerous times when I was a kid but I traded them with a buddy. I just bought my last one and now have the full set. The books are a great read still.

They are being rewritten to adjust for "modern sensibilities" and the rewrites are not very good...sort of like the Hardy Boys.

Jim

I've got the set, as well as Bronc Burnett (by Wilfred McCormick) and numerous other sports series. I believe the re-writes are being done by Clair Bee's son-in-law, if I recall correctly. It includes #24, Fullback Fury, which I think was published around 2000 from a manuscript partially completed at Bee's death.

Thanks Max.

I read two of the Bronc Burnett books and they were ok(especially when he struck out Slug Langenegger on his blooper)--not like Chip Hilton though.

Did not know of Fullback Fury--guess that is his senior year at college--what a guy--plays intercollegiate football, baseball and basketball and works to pay his way through school.
