October Memoribilia B/S/T Post

Hey guys, I just posted this stuff on the BST, but figured I would start an October post over here as well.

I have the following items available for sale, email me at kjjavic@aol.com if interested.

2 1890s Ring Bat shaped pencil boxes - The one acutally contains a chalk holder and ruler, so I guess it is actually a chalk box and not a pencil box.
Looking for $150 a piece or $250 for the pair. The chalk box has a split/crack in the lid, but still displays beautifully.

1880s CHYP Intercollegiate Mixture Tobacco tin with several sports motif decorations. As you can see the tin is missing some of the color in some areas. Looking for $150.

1913 Football pennant made for Harvard's 1913 Championship season. I have see the identical pennant with Harvard written out instead of the 1913. The pennant has a few large mothholes. Asking $250

1912 Football/sports themed Calendar plate - $50

Vintage Football shaped porcelain stein made by Gerzit, W. Germany - there is a minor chip - $50

This is not meant to knit-pick but, but West Germany wasn't formed until 1949. The date of your football stein could be no older than that.

October Memoribilia B/S/T Post

Doh, that was a pretty bad oversight on my part, as I was reading the bottom I didn't even give the W. Germany a second though. Thanks for that correction, and I dont take it as knit picking at all

2 19th century photos

October 6 2008, 6:19 AM

Hello,

I have the following 2 19th century photographs for sale.

The first one is an 1886 Princeton Basball team imperial cabinet photo. I id'd it to 1886 because the identical team image is included in the History of Athletics at Princton book. The photo measures 14 by about 11 inches and it is mounted on a board of a ligher tan color.

I am looking for $600 for this photo shipped insured priority.

The second photo is an 1893 Indiana University baseball team photo. The board has nice gold gilded edges and the board measures about 11 x 14 inches. An Indiana University Library Curator dated this photo for me to 1893 with the help of other photos in the archives, and they also told me that one of the non-uniformed guys in the back row is Charles Jacob Sembower, who was a shortstop in the early 1890's, then a long term faculty member, and who IU's current baseball field is named after.

I am looking for $400 for this photo shipped insured priority.

1905 Napoleon LaJoie professional model decal bat. Bat has been graded an A8 by Mears. It's 34 inches long and the weight is 41.1. It's uncracked and is almost in perfect shape if not for 2-3 cleat marks. Decal is about 70-80% left. Has a hand turned knob(very thick). Please email to discuss the bat, im interested in trading it also. I would be interested in items dealing with Babe Ruth,Lou Gehrig, any game used bats and jersey's and also items dealing with the 1977/78 yankees. Bat is on ebay if you want to see the price, bat is worth more than im asking also. Please don't hesitate to send offers. Thank you very much.

Comes with paperwork about the request and order for Athletics and Cubs photos to be displayed in the storefront window obviously for the World Series which featured the above teams.

There is a photocopy of another piece of paperwork from the photographer which talks about an aviation display, but also includes a paragraph about waiting for the Cubs to return to Philly so the photographer can get photos....I do not have the original of that paperwork...the paperwork shown above IS the original and is on an onionskin type of paper. The photo of course is the original and is an 8" x 10". Great peripheral item associated with the 1910 World Series. SOLD. Thanks.

1938 Yankees signed album page.Autographs include a early Joe DiMaggio,Myril Hoag,Kemp Wicker,Bill Knickerbocker,George Selkirk and Babe Dahlgren the man who replaced Lou gehrig. Autographs are in pencil but are still in great shape. I'm asking $175 shipped. Comes with a PSA auction house letter.

I also have these players signed index card. The Babe Young and Jack Saltzgaver were cut out then pasted to an index card. The lefty gomez one is really nice and so is the Chas Ruffing. Most are on unlined index cards. Please email me if you want photos of any of them. I would like to sell them in a group. I would take $600 for both groups which include the Yankee signed sheet.
