A friend of mine picked this up & had a question as to its value.

I never had a chance to flip through one of these before & I have to say it is amazing. Everything is represented, baseball, football, boxing, figure skating, exercise equipment, you name it. Interesting to see the evolution of equipment.

Looks like it's in great condition...I'll take a stab and say $150-250.

I will let my friend know your opinion of its value. I keep flipping through it and finding the most interesting items. Many pieces are very similar to modern day equipment while others, like the basketball hoop & net with the bottom of the netting NOT cut out, are a bit distant in similarity. The chest exerciser is surprising to me as it is basically an early version of the cable machines you will see in gyms today.

Basketball was a relatively new sport in 1920, and not that popular. Baseball already had a long tradition by that time.

1920 Spalding Catalog- yep, another catalog

I agree with Barry 150-200, I have been able to pick up a few recently for 75.00-100, but generally with these catalogs they are hard to find and value and prices in the past have been in that range stated above.
