Trying to find my dad's platoon number

My father, James T.Woods, a China Marine, was on Parris Island in December 15, 1943. I need his platoon number to request a picture of his Parris Island platoon - but he doesn't remember his number.

Any thoughts on how to acquire this number would be greatly appreciated!!!
