Author needs help with USMC history

I am writing a book and the main character is a US Marine after WWII in 1947. I would appreciate hooking up with someone who was around during that era who could answer some questions about the Corps in during that period. It is important to me that the details I include are accurate so when the real Marines read it, they (you) approve.
