I was a radio Technician, stationed at the Shantung University compound. Worked in the Comm vault near the back gate. Lived on the 4th floor in barracks next to the brig. Would like to hear from China Marines during the time frame '49-'49.

My father was Charles B. Coke. He was a T/Sgt. at the time of his service in Tsingtao. He was with the Twelfth Service Battalion, Fleet Marine Force, Western Pacific.

My mother, my brother and I were there too from April 1948 to January 1949. I was just 2 1/2 years old so I don't remember much, but my parents had fond memories while there.

My father retired in 1956 at Camp LeJeune, NC and we moved back to the Quantico, Virginia area. He passed away in 1994 of renal failure. My son has his medals and I have his China Marine medal which I treasure.

It was nice talking with you. Good luck in finding other marines during that time frame.
