My dad Albert Henry served on the Comet in WWII. 2nd Div. I have a little book called Tale of the Comet. He died Oct 23,2003 in DeRidder, LA of cancer. He worked for many years in the Oil business. He was Flow station #1 Supervisor for the trans-Alaska pipeline, and Later was the drilling supervisor for the north slope.
He said that while onboard he acted as a gunner on a 3"50cal mount, master at arms, and was a helmsman during a typhoon. He said there were a few times during the typhoon that it looked as if the ship would capsize.
I look forward to any responce you have.

Charles
