I was with the Ist Marine Division in Peking from Sept.1945 till Feb.1946. Stationed outside the city at jap airfield. Rode shotgun on the train from Tsingtao toPeking bringing supplies to the base. We came from Zamboango,PI. Discharged March 1946 Dago. Please give me E mail for more info. Semper Fi.

I was at Zamboanga also, went to Taku on USS Sheridan.Drove a jeep up to Peiping in October `45. Was at West Field in SMS 12 until sometime in `46 and we all moved to South Field with MAG 24 WasNCO in charge of transient officers quarters until July of `46Came back to the states on USS Breckinridge. 5095Marines on board. Had to ride a troop train to Lejeune. was discharged 10August 46. Are you a member of the China Marine Association? If not let me know and I`ll get you an application.

759 Draft

I am wondering if you know if the 759 draft went to China. My father was a radioman with that draft but was pulled out in Hawaii for very soft duty to run the Howland M. Smith Ampitheater in Honolulu. He also returned home on the Breckenridge and noted it was crowded. Can you provide the answer? His name was the same as mine.

I was with the 1st Pioneer Batalion with the 1st Marine Division in Tientsin, China from Sept. 1945 thru 1946. I would be interested in corresponding with anyone who was there at this time.

Phillip Dipitro was in the lst Marine division in China - 1945. He was from Trenton, NJ. He was a very good friend of my Father (Morton C. Herald). If you have any info on him, please let me know. Thanks.

MY DAD WAS WITH THE 6th MARINES. HE'S TOLD ME RIDING
THE TOPS OF TRAINS AS A GUARD. BUILDING A MESS HALL
USING JAPANESE LABOR. WORKING AT EDGEWATER MANSION.
THE JAPANESE SURRENDER AT THE RACETRACK. MIGHT YOU
HAVE ADDITIONAL INFO AND PICTURES.
