I have some old photographs of Marines 9July1927. I would like to know whether they have any historical significance or maybe even personal. The pictures are 3 to a page and show #1 Marines on Parade,#2 Tenth Regiment Artillery and Tanks,#3Caissons, the 75 the most accurate and murderous rifle invented, #4Jugernauts-baby tanks #5 3rd Brigade, the boilermakers #6 the 81st. Co. #7 the Second Battalion #8 Gen. Butler, Col. Snyder, Rear Admiral Williams, Lt. Col.Dyer, and Lt. Col. Eidel Clapla???[Hard to read]#9 Commanding "Osiffer" of the Sixth Regt. Col. Snyder and Staff, #10 Rear Admiral Williams Commander in chief of American Forces and Col. Hill in Command of the Fourth Regiment, Shanghi, China. Shot and killed accidently-1928. #11 On the Machine Gun Range with the 81st,3 of which mention Peteroni Gy., Schiemes-Sgt., Ist. Lt. Hartsel, and !st Lt. Fellows. #12Men at horseplay Names-Ackerman,Bum Rogers,myselt[?], Maloney, Red French, and Case.#13 Another picture mentions Corp. Campanellie 3rd class, Phar. mate Jacque and a neighbor of the home town Acker??? #14 Names-Nichols Billetta, Anderson-Meyers God???, Rue Pasteur and Taku Rds. French Concessio?????, #15 Anxious days of waiting to be called to the field against Chinese troups,therefore drills were necessary.#16 Inspection of the Third Brigade, Second Battallion, #17 The 80th and 79th Comps. awaiting inspection, H'dq' and H'dq' Co. the brains of the battalion.#18 Major Miller inspecting 79th Co. and Various other pictures of these comp. and China Marines. Can anyone tell me anything about these groups or Officers? Should I donate these to the US Marine Corps? Would they want them? Please write me at fbabb@bigfoot.com Thank you and God Bless you.

Read with great interest of the pictures you have.I have been trying to locate people who may have known my father,Jacob D. Gordon,who was a China Marine 1927-1929.He was a member of the 4th Marines,machine gun co.If you still have the pictures,I would gladly pay for a copy or what ever.My father passed away in 1956.I retired from the Marine Corps after 20 years 1/5/74.I'm at the present a member or the Marine Corps Leaque.I await your reply.Thank you.

My grandfather was stationed in China in 1927. He left me his trunk he had while he was in the Marines. In it I have lots of pictures and other momentos of China. I will look for any mention of your father and will let you know what I find. My grandfather's name was Clarence Ballard.

I just read your message and it's fascinating. What have you done with the pictures?; you must have gotten a blizzard of responses. If there is any possibility of copies, I would be most interested. I collect material re: China Marines, especially the Brigade and the 4th. I am retired, was in from '42-'66. I am sure that the Marine Corps Museum would treasure these pictires and the data you obviously have. Thanks for any reponse, My regards, Bill
