Anyone out there that was stationed at the air base in 1948/49 with the Naval Sea Bees??????

Good mornng, I will be traveling to China on May 9, 2002 and wondered about my dad's service during WW1 and WW2. He seved on the US Canopus (CBM AA rating) and according to his log book he was at Tsingtao, China from 6-30-32 until 9-30-32. From there the ship went to Manila and then back to Tsingtao from 6-30-33 until 9-30-33 and was issued the Yangtze Service Medal No 3080. I'm not sure where Tsingtao is but any information you can give me or ideas on "retracing" his steps would be great. Dad left this world several years ago and I am trying to put together a history of his distinguished naval career. Thanks so much. Barbara

Made my exit in February 1949 from Tsingtao but still remember the Tiensin railrod guard duty.
Remember:
Tsingtao railroad,
Ride in style.
Fourteen minutes to make one mile,
Chinese think too fast indeed,
Blow up tracks to slow down speed.
