I was stationed at the Arsenal from Jan of 46 till Sept.I was in motor transport hauling the Japanese or whatever.I am looking for some one that would have an arial picture of the arsenal or at least some pictures that would show the layout of the base. Do you know which side of the Arsenal the main gate faced, would it have been on the south side with the little village just about 150 ft across the road that led to Teintsin, will appreciate any thing you can help me with.

P.S.I would bet that you probably was in on the spraying of the Arsenal from the air for the sleeping sickness mosquitos, the DDT and diesel fuel mix would speckal our clothes when the planes flew over

Yep. It, the main gate, was on the south side. Sorry but I have no pictures - only memories.

To make a long stocy VERY short I am writing a book covering the Japanese Type 38 family of weapons including some copies of the carbines that were reportedly made at the Teintsin Arsenal. I am looking any information that I can get on the arsenal and its products. Can anyone help????? Ifno is virtually non-existent at this point.

My brother, John Louis Kramvik (Lou) was in Tientsin China during 1946-47 time frame. I'm not sure what unit he was with. From pictures I have seen of him he was a Pfc. He passed away in 1977. I was in the Corps from 1959-1985. I'm currently the manager of one of the four USO'S on Okinawa.

Have a nice day.
