Yes one portion of Joe's swing would have (as you say) a trailing club head but this is not what Joe advocated. In fact if he had a particular part of his swing that was the most important part it would be the " No Rotation " aspect of his swing. In the video he specifically states after he shows how it’s done that the holding of the lower body in a stationary position is the main basis of his knowledge.
There's no doubt that a person can cock or fold the wrists and use different methods of grips to achieve this but this doesn't mean that doing this is in anyway similar to Joe's swing, it just means one part of his swing has a similar concept.
Swinging with cocked wrists and using a rotating lower body will not result in the same grip, same stance, same backswing, same downswing and same follow through so I will disagree (politely) with anyone who suggests that Joe's swing has any similarity with any other swing just because one portion of his swing has a similar concept. Too many swings talk in the “What to feel” method or “What to look for” method and I can’t grasp this concept. I talk in the “How to do” method. A trailing club head does not tell me how to do it. When does it trail? Where does it trail? How do you get the club to trail? What portions of the hands are used to cause the trailing club head? I could go on an on. Joe’s method is simple. The TGM method is complex. I prefer simple. I don’t want to think about controlling 24 separate parts of the body to achieve a trailing club head. I don’t agree that everyone must have a separate swing.
There's are two certain facts in my book.
01. Anyone can learn to hit a golf ball with any swing and become somewhat adapt at doing it. This I won't argue.
02. There is no other golf swing that is similar in multiple parts to Joe's swing and that's verified by one very important fact which is rotation. Rotation is so normal to the human body that everyone accepts it. You can see rotation in the lower body in the first 1-3 inches of the backswing and in many cases poor golfers start their backswing with their hips.
Joe says in his video. Rotation is the root cause to all errors in golf.
Thanks for your comments.
