Generally when you see the ball spinning back on telly its because a cut shot has been played. What you don't see is that the green is sloping upwards. It's almost impossible to get back spin when the green is sloping down(away from you)....It seems obvious when you think about it. Seemingly top spin itself is impossible...what the old timers called top spin is now generally recognised as minimum backspin. However in putting I think top spin is possible if you hit an asending strike towards the top half of the ball...
