Red Shoe Diaries

Well, the movie was really the set up for the series. Jake is engaged to this woman, I can't remember her name right now. Dammit, I know. She starts fooling around with Tom. She has a big, guilty, angsty moment where her already established bad self-asteem kicks in and she kills herself. Through her diaries Jake finds out she was cheating on him. He then goes to look for Tom to see who the hell this guy was, since that affair fucked up the life he thought he was going to have. He stalks him out and then befriends him for a little while. Leading up to a teary confrontation.

Slashy moments. There is some bare-chested basketball playing that leads to some fighting, which includes bare-chested wrestling around on the floor.

By, the way and this is totally off topic. I saw some movie a few days ago on a premium channel, I've seen this one part I am going to mention more than once, but I can never remember the damn name. The movie was probably made in the sixties, English actors, set probably 1800's or early 20th century. There is this scene in it where these two guys are in like a living room/parlor, wrestling naked on the floor in front of a fire place. I swear by the time they are done it looks like the two of them have pretty much come. Can you say slashy subtext. I think they were even trying to insinuate through some dialogue after that that one of the guys had a thing for the other one. Naked wrestling. They weren't even being subtle with the slashy subtext. I mean, if you have ever seen Oz, picture the Beecher/Keller wrestling matches completely naked and you have this scene. Just not even in a gym. It was so slashy I was cracking up at how hard they were trying not to hide it, yet hide it with enough deniablity to pass. It was so weird. Hot, but weird.
