Only the first one was movie length. The others are 30 minute tv shows. DD is the narrator. In the movie his fiance had this diary, in it she mentions she wished that she could put out an ad asking women why they betrayed, how they had been betrayed by other. To share their stories and help her make sense of why she did it.
At the end of the movie DD's character Jake places that ad, to help him make sense of it all. He appears in the beginning and end of each show opening a letter and setting up the story the chicks are telling him. He also closes the ep with a little thought or summation.
There was only one ep that I can think of that he appeared in the whole thing. I don't know the name of it. He ends up fooling around with a married women and gets kindof what Tom was feeling.
When he's reading the letter out loud, it's usually while he's walking along after picking them up, he's reading them to his dog Stella. Which is sort of cute.
The actor who played Tom's name is Billy Wirth. Totally hot.
