This is an interesting comment -- what about the show made you think this? I just finished watching the last 25 minutes of the show, and I've never seen the first part, so I don't know the whole story.
But geez louise, judging from what I saw, I agree that this ep is a mess! Girlfriend chose a few too many slo-mo shots accompanied by groovy music. And the gratuitous Tender!Comfort!Mulder final scene!
