Thank you for your post...and if we didn't care about the development of the characters I imagine any conversations about M/K would be silly. But, we do care because like all good stories they catch our imagination and aspirations and our need to empathize with "heroes"; and love what and who we imagine or hope they love...and if the damned writers or director, in this case, screw it all up then we're pississied! Anyway, its encouraging that many wonderful slash writers have taken up the challenge to wrest season 8's debacle of a finale away from the "common campfire (i.e. TV)' of CC's stroy telling. I do hope in the future - and I mean it, because after the finale I was in shock and fear that it would somehow dull or diminish M/K slash creation. But, praised be the Maker, it hasn't; and your thoughts and observations and recommendations have been lovely to ponder.
