I do think you are right that Alex would stand up to him and not let him push him around. I don't think Alex would let Mulder screw up some cases in court like Scully did. Every time I watch the episode Tooms I just get so angry at Mulder. Mulder totally fucked that case up at the hearing. He started practically screaming out about how Tooms was over a hundred years old and everything. I mean it was true, but no one in that courtroom was going to think he was anything except a loon for saying it. He is standing there screaming over the judge and lawyers like an idiot. I kept thinking if Alex had been his partner then during the first season, he would have been so pissed. I mean they had Tooms cold. He had trophies from the killings, there was all this evidence at the scene. Mulder didn't have to say all that crap that he knew they weren't going to believe. He was like a little boy crying wolf, there was a wolf, but no one was listening. He sounded like a nut job I'm surprised that his superiors didn't send him for a psych evaluation upon hearing about the outburst or even forced a suspension on him. Scully just let him get away with that shit. I don't think Alex would have let him get away with it.

I think if something like that came up he would have taken Mulder off somewhere yelled at him and maybe even punched him. I think he would have tried to make him see that he didn't have to lie to them, just tell them what parts of the truth that they would believe. I think he would have called him about being so fucking self-absorbed that he cared more that people believed him than he did about getting Tooms convicted so that he couldn't hurt anyone else. I know they weren't partners then, but that is just something I thought about. I've got this AU in my head where M/K have been partners since first season. That we started the show with Alex and Mulder. That's a happy thought.

I like Scully too, I just wonder if she would want to stay with Mulder if given the chance to really get out. I mean after all the shit that has happened to her over the years if she could see that coming she might run for her fucking life.

I don't know if Mulder and Krycek would fight all the time, but I think they would fight about Mulder needing to play the game a little bit. I think Alex would appeal to him by telling him that the more convictions they could obtain the better it would help the validity of the X-files. Mulder would get pissy and say that he was only thinking about his personal conviction rate. Alex would respond with the fact that he had stayed with Mulder when he could have left and gotten a posting elsewhere. That he choose to work on the X-files too and wants to know. Remembering that it would probably wrap the fight up soon. I think they would fight, but I think they would become friends. From there...well...in my happy little world of course lovers.<g>
