My family has just returned from the white mountains of New Hampshire and we were surprised how different the weather acted in the mountains.
The biggest factor was how storms can just sit on top of you for days , we stayed seven days and got rain five, someone we know was camping just 20 miles to the east of us and got only two days of rain.
This is why I am suggesting to be ready for unusual conditions when you camp in new parts of the country we had to buy additional tarps, plastic and clothing to make up for the dampness and cold the rain brought with it.
Tent campers will see some good results from putting a tarp under their tent to keep the floor dryer and less dirty(muddy).
The biggest factor that kept us together and having fun was a positive attitude this goes a long way trust me it can make or break a vacation and will set a example for your children wither good or bad.
You really can't predict the weather you can be prepared for it we studies the weather for the White Mountains for two weeks prior to camping to get a feel for what to expect.
tip
Print out the ten day forecast and bring it with you this can be a loose guide as to what to expect.
