Response to Hi you all...a question... |
| because SART does not separate them out. donor embryo cycles are grouped into donor egg cycles for record keeping. There is no overall variable- it all depends on the gametes that went into the embryo and the age of the oocyte donor or genetic mother.
In the new book on financing infertility, "Budgeting for Infertility: Bring Home a baby without breaking the bank", the authors are not particularly thrilled with this option from a financial standpoint. Generally, the best embryos are used in a fresh cycle and unless you are assured of embryos with certain variables, it does not tend to be the option with very high success rates.
That being said, it is certainly more affordable than fresh donor egg cycles.
Lauranz, you have been through so much heartache and disappointment. Is there anyway you could afford to go to south Africa or to the Ukraine for a fresh DE cycle? the odds would be so much higher than what you are proposing...
I wish you well with whatever option you choose and hope that you are able to have your child. soon would be nice! |
