Hi Mary. I actually had my doctor consult this afternoon. While I thought it was pretty much a waste of time; something that could have been discussed on the phone since we already signed & mailed the consents in months ago, it was a necessary step in this process. I asked about the med protocol & he told me the IVF nurses work that out. I was hoping my day one would be today so I could have the ultrasound & blood work but my body didn't cooperate. Of course my period started about an hour ago. Very helpful. So now I have to call them & arrange another appointment. At that point, I guess they'll start me on birth control pills, then Lupron & wait for the bleed. Then at some point the estrogen injections & hopefully my lining will thicken up quickly (they like at least 6mm) & then we can arrange for the transfer. Could happen in 5 or 6 weeks or even sooner! Very exciting.

We also found out with DH's new job & insurance, we now have 15k lifetime max for IVF, so the embryo transfer will be covered. Very good news for us considering how much has already been spent. We are praying this last time is the charm!

How are you doing??

I am finally starting to get back to my old self, somewhat. I don't know if you read the other board but we lost our baby. went for US at 13 weeks and the baby had stopped growing at 10 and a half weeks. 5 days later had D&C (hospital bill for 11,000) we have 1 embryo left and want to try in October if all the BW and lining looks good.Maybe we will be cycle buddies.

Oh Mary I am sorry. I didn't know you had lost the baby. Were they able to determine what happened?? I don't understand why these things keep happening to people like us. Life is truly not fair. I hope your embryo is strong & healthy. I go in for blood work & ultrasound on Monday & will find out my medication schedule then. I hope you'll be able to cycle soon so we can celebrate together!

they were not able to tell anything from the pathology report because the baby had been without a heartbeat for 2 weeks by then. They chalked it up to chromasome abnormalitys, and I picked the donors with the cleanist medical record over the one that more closely resembled us trying to avoid something like this. We will never know what truely happened and I have demanded a new set of immunity and clotting BW before going through with this last embryo.
