Some of the shit we have to do to get the goods we print in the mag often get in the way of the natural flow of who we are. Such has been the case and the chief reason why, it's now May and I still don't have a running bike. It all has to do with some tech article shit and piss poor planning on my part but the case remains, no bike, no good.

So, a brother of mine mentioned that he had an extra shovel that I was welcome too and on a particular day of taking shit from too many other people I took him up on it and hit the road. Now this bike has been in need of some work for a while so It was not going to be a hot rod trip. Thirty years old and a four speed to boot, I was just out for a day in the breeze.

As the day wore on and the night chill came up I remembered to forget. One by one I forgot those who trespassed against me. I remembered that I truly don't care about shit man. You may have more chrome than me, better leathers, less money, maybe more. You might have three bikes and a smokin' ol' lady.... You might ride the fastest bike on the planet but I just don't give a damn. I'm sure that all of that is great for you man but I'm just here for a ride!

Ya’ see, it was this simple three hundred mile blast through the mountains of Pennsylvania that made me a human being again. This is the medicine that keeps Mr. Hyde at bay. This is what makes it possible for me to walk among the living from day to day and I realized how close to the edge I was without a bike to ride....... Good thing for good brothers huh?

Still, not enough can be said for doing your own thing man. Sorta’ thought that's where it all came from anyway.... Right? Whadda' I know, I'm just a knucklehead, ridin' on a shovelhead...... Actin' like a dickhead...... But I'm better today for a borrowed shovel and a cool spring night. Thanks Scotty!
