Looking for photo of the James Gang opening for the Cream at the Akron civic Auditorium 19

by

Hi All, In the Spring of 1968 we opened for The Cream at the Akron Civic Auditorium. The Creams manager dropped the stage curtain on us after about 3 songs. While this was not the most enjoyable gig it was definately the biggest. I am in hopes of finding a photo of the group specificaly at this gig or any from that spring with my mug in it.I had just returned to the band and the James Gang line-up was Joe Walsh, Jimmie Fox, Phil Gialambardo, Tom Chris and Ronnie Silverman. Thanks for any leads.Have a good one. Ronnie

James Gang opened for The Who

by

In the late 60's I saw the James Gang perform as the opening act for The Who. For me it truly was a life-changing experience. The Who performed Tommy and were great, but I often speak about my mind-blowing introduction to Jimmy, Dale, and Joe!

James Gang/Kiss gig

by

Back on May 31st, 1974, the James Gang played a gig where KISS was the opening band. I KNOW the Kiss portion was recorded for the radio. Does anybody have the JG part?

JG on Midnight Special '74

by

Aparently, the (ahem) fine folks at the Burt Sugarman company are dragging its feet with the release of the Gang's appearences on the Midnight Special in 1974. I wish Jimmy Fox, Dale Peters & whomever is in charge of the James Gangs biz would get ahold of this footage & let us experience this wonderful piece of JG/Bolin history.

Footage of first James Gang reunion

by

An excellent new post on YouTube -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-EpaS2sR6g

features the first reunion of the Rides Again lineup at a Joe Walsh solo concert in Cleveland in 1991. They perform Funk #49, Asshtonpark and a bluesy jam and it's wonderful to see. Even more wonderful to have been there.

album art-James Gang or Joe Walsh

by

Is it true that Bill Jeric's brother, known as Lad, did the cover art for one of the albums, either James Gang or Joe Walsh?

Cover Art

by

Yes ..... the first James Gang album - "Yer Album" - was issued on vinyl with a gatefold sleeve. The inside left sleeve has a drawing credited to Ladimer Jeric. It's a somewhat elaborate doodle, no doubt intended to be intepreted best when stoned. In the cold light of day and with all due respect to the artist it's really not very good.

James Gang Bang T-Shirts

by

I saw the Gang in January '74 in Hershey, PA, just after Bang was released. The Roadies were wearing these really cool james gang BANG T-shirts. If you look closely at the Don Kirshner Concert Video, you can see that Jimmy Fox is wearing one! I would love to find one, or at least the artwork from it. It had the standard "james gang" lower case logo in white on a black shirt, and just below the logo an exploding firecracker forming the word "BANG". Does anybody know anything about this? Would love to hear about it!

Trivia question on Straight Shooter Album

by

I would like an answer regarding the end of the first side on the Straight Shooter LP as well as the end of the second side on the LP.

It is my recollection that at the end of the album as the turntable stylus would meet the label that on the first side was the wording "Turn me over, turn me over". In addition, after playing the second side the message was "Play me again, play me again".

I thought I had an original pressing of the album and just got a new manual turntable but at the end of each side, no wording/message was present. I'm I correct in that those wording were present? If so, maybe only the original pressing had that information.

Let me know as I'm extremely curious about this bit of "trivia".

I look forward to your response.

Straight Shooter

by Jim Quinn

There's no run out message on Straight Shooter, at least not on my ABC Dunhill copy. But there is on Yer Album which is probably what you're thinking of - as per attached link :http://hiddensongs.com/songs/yeralbum.php

Re: Trivia question on Straight Shooter Album

by

Hi,

You are correct about when the tone arm hit near the label on side one it keeps repeating "Turn Me Over" and on the 2nd side it keeps repeating "Play Me Again" but the reason you didn't hear anything is because you've got the wrong album. It didn't do that on the Straight Shooter album.

It did this on the James Gang's first album titled "James Gang Yer Album"

Hope this helps!
