Response to Tainted Love ~Sequel to To Win Her Heart~ 1

{Chapter 11}

“Angela,” Undertaker said handing over the keys to the house to Angela. “Now, Kane and I got the fridge stocked for you. If you need anythin’ else there’s a pickup in the drive. There’s a general store in town not far from here.”

They had driven late into the night to get to this place. Kane had slept with Angela in his arms that night. Undertaker had taken the couch. In the morning he and Undertaker had gone into town to shop for some things while Angela slept.

“You’re not staying,” Angela asked Kane.

“I can’t, Angie,” Kane said softly. “Orton will be suspicious as it is. If I just disappear he’ll be even more suspicious.”

Angela sighed looking around at her new surroundings. It wasn't a huge house; just one level with a bedroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. Cozy. Something told her it would seem huge and empty once Undertaker and Kane left. At least it would be safe for her.

“I’ll call you every chance I get,” Kane said. “All right?”

“Kane, we should head back,” Undertaker said. It was late afternoon and they needed to get back in time for Raw. “I’ll wait for you out in the car.” He left Kane and Angela to say goodbye.

Angela hugged Kane tightly, burying her face in his chest. He could feel hot tears seeping through his shirt. “Angie,” he said softly making her look up at him. “I’ll deal with Orton and then we can be together. All right?”

The tears were still slipping down her cheeks as she nodded. “I’m sorry, Kane,” she said softly. “All of this is my fault.”

“No, it’s Orton’s fault,” he said kissing her softly. “Now Orton has an angry monster on his ass.”

“An angry monster who has back up,” Undertaker said coming back to check on the two. “We really need to go Kane.” Kane nodded following his brother. Angela followed behind them, standing on the porch and watching as they got into the car and pulled away.

~*~*~*~

Randy stalked around the halls in a foul mood when he arrived for Raw. He had recovered from the baseball bat to the jaw. There were no broken bones from it, though it had hurt like a son of bitch for a good while. His head where he had hit the coffee table now had the healing remnants of a gash. Again there had been no broken bones.

He scanned the people milling about the halls searching for Kane, but could see no sign of him. It was infuriating. He knew Kane had his wife, he just couldn’t find the bastard to find out where he was keeping her.

He had tried Angela’s cell phone only to find that she had left it in her bag when they were at the pay-per-view. It was killing him that he couldn’t find her. Who knew what Kane was doing to her?

Shane and Stephanie had been no help to him at all. They had refused to order Kane to turn Angela over and had already made plans to have her written out of the storyline until she finally showed up. Randy had even thought of contacting the police, but considering his history with his wife he thought it best to leave them out of things.

With a sigh Randy headed to the Gorilla position to wait. His match was up next. It would be a cakewalk. He was facing Santino Marella in a non-title match. He could win it with his eyes closed.

~*~*~*~

As Randy had predicted the match against Marella was proving to be an easy one. He was just about to set the smaller man up for an RKO when the Titantron came to life. On it Kane’s face could be seen. The crowd went insane.

“Randy,” Kane said smirking devilishly. Randy turned his gaze to the screen, his eyes narrowed. “Where’s Angela, Randy? Why don’t you come find her?” Kane began to laugh wickedly before the screen went blank.

“Son of a bitch,” Randy growled exiting the ring. The ref had no choice but to count him out. Randy stalked up the ramp and through the curtain, scanning the back. There was no sign of Kane at all.

“Randy,” Shane McMahon said cutting him off from searching the rest of the building. “That was great.”

“What the hell are you talking about, Shane,” he demanded.

“This is all part of the new storyline,” Shane replied smiling.

Randy grabbed him by his collar and pinned him up against the wall. “You’re making Kane kidnapping my wife into a fucking storyline,” he growled.

“Fair is fair, Randy,” Shane said shoving the younger man off of him and straightening his shirt. “Weren’t you the one who came to Stephanie and I about a storyline revolving around your relationship with her. Or am I mistaken?”

“Where is Kane,” Randy demanded.

“Have you tried his locker room,” Shane asked, with a shrug before walking away.

Randy stalked down the hall to Kane’s locker room kicking in the door. Kane looked up from lacing up his boots. “Took you long enough to come find me,” he said.

“Where is she,” Randy demanded. “Where is my wife?”

“Resting comfortably,” Kane replied. “She’s safe.”

“I want to know where she is, you big red freak,” Randy demanded.

“Now, that’s not nice,” Kane replied smirking. “Orton, you’ll never see Angie again. She doesn’t want you. She never did.”

“We’ll see about that,” Randy muttered as he stalked away.

Edge, Victoria and Jason entered the locker room once Randy had stormed off. “Hey, big man,” Jason said taking a seat next to Kane.

“So, I know I’m not the only one wondering,” Edge said. “Where’s Angie?”

“Yeah,” Victoria piped in. “I’ve tried her cell, but I’m guessing she doesn’t have it where she is.”

“I can’t tell you guys that,” Kane said. “Honestly, I really wish I could, but I can’t risk the information getting into the wrong hands.”

He looked at Victoria and Edge. Edge’s swollen eye had finally returned to normal and his black eye was almost gone. Victoria still had slight bruising around her neck from being choked.

“It’s best for all of you that you don’t know.” Victoria groaned. “I know you’re worried about her, Vic. She’s fine and she’ll be back when it’s time.”

~*~*~*~

Randy was getting nowhere fast on his own. He finally broke down and hired a private investigator to try to find Angela. The investigator had returned to him a couple of weeks later with no info at all. He had hit a brick wall and was becoming more and more desperate to find Angela with every day that passed.

In the weeks since he confronted Kane the Big Red Monster had continued to torment Randy via Titantron during his matches. Always he asked where Angela was and laughed wickedly. The fans were loving it the more frustrated that Randy got.

Kane was enjoying the hell out of it. The more distraught the younger man looked the happier Kane was. He was being tight lipped about Angela’s location and the Undertaker was still the only other person who knew where she was. Though he longed to hold her in his arms and watch her sleep each night he knew that until he dealt with Randy she’d have to remain hidden.

~*~*~*~

With about three weeks leading into Wrestlemania Kane would be in a six man tag. His partners would be Jason Rampage and Edge. Randy on the other hand was in a bind. He had been told at the top of the show that he’d need to find partners. He had asked several people only to get turned down. Triple H and Shawn Michaels even went so far as to laugh in his face.

He had just about given up hope as his match neared when he spotted Ken Kennedy and MVP chatting. “Guys,” he called to them jogging over to where they stood. “How’d you like to team up with me tonight in a six man tag?”

“Why the hell would we want to do that,” MVP demanded.

“Montell, Kane set you on fire. Have you forgotten about that,” Randy replied.

“That’s old news,” MVP replied.

Randy sighed in exasperation. “Fine, what about Edge costing you your US title? Don’t you want to get even for that?”

“Good point,” MVP said mulling over the offer. “All right, I’m in.”

“Ken, remember when Rampage superkicked you into next month last week,” Randy asked.

“Don’t remind me,” Kennedy grumbled. “My jaw still hurts like hell.”

“Come on, help me dish out some punishment,” Randy said smiling.

“All right,” Kennedy replied. “It would feel good to kick that punk’s ass.”

~*~*~*~

During the course of the match Randy and his partners were getting pounded pretty bad. Randy managed to get away from Kane and dove into his corner to make the tag to Kennedy. The problem was Kennedy had other ideas.

He had just gotten another superkick from Rampage and was still not fully recovered. He dropped down to the floor shaking his head as he headed up the ramp. Randy was stunned.

“Ken, get back here, you bastard,” Randy growled. He turned his attention to MVP, who was recovering from an Edge spear. He held out his hand to tag in MVP only to find he was once again denied.

“Man, forget this,” MVP yelled. “I’m outta here.”

“Both of you get back here,” Randy yelled, watching his partners backing up the ramp. “You’re both worthless pieces of shit!”

“Hey, Randy,” Kennedy called. “Turn around.”

Randy did turn around to be met with a superkick form Rampage. He stumbled into Kane, who grabbed him by the throat and chokeslammed him. As Randy got back to his feet he was hit hard with Edge’s spear. Both Rampage and Edge urged Kane to cover Randy and counted to three with the ref.

~*~*~*~

“Great match,” Jason said patting Kane on the back.

“Yeah, I can’t remember the last time I had so much fun in the ring,” Edge agreed.

The three men watched as Randy was helped to the medic station. Kane smirked and headed over to him. “Hey, Orton,” he said. “That beating was a message from Angie.” With an evil laugh Kane walked away.

{Chapter 12}

Though she had been alone at the house for a little over a month Angela had settled into a routine. She was enjoying her solitude. It was a relief to not worry about being manhandled by Randy. Plus she had Kane to speak to every night. It made her smile just to think of him.

The phone ringing brought her out of her thought. She knew just who it was. “I was wondering when you’d call,” she said setting aside her cup of tea and leaning back into the couch.

“Had to meet with Stephanie and Shane,” Kane replied. “How you holdin’ up, Angie?”

“Great,” she replied. “Though it gets a little cold at night. I could use a nice big red body warmer.”

~*~*~*~

Kane chuckled. “Is that all I am to you,” he replied. “I always knew you only wanted me for my body.” He once again laughed.

Randy was walking through the hall on his way to grab some water when he overheard Kane on the phone in his locker room. The door was slightly ajar and he could hear the bigger man laughing and talking. He looked around to make sure no one noticed him before listening more intently.

“I know, Angie,” Kane said. “They miss you too. This will all be over soon.”

“Angie,” Randy muttered.

~*~*~*~

“I saw what you guys did to Randy last week,” Angela said smiling. “Nice touch with Edge’s spear at the end. Would have been nice if you could have made it an eight man tag. Then ‘Taker could have given him a tombstone for good measure.”

Kane laughed. “I’m sure ‘Taker would have loved that,” he replied. “Shit, Angie. I gotta go. I have some things I need to do before the show tonight.”

“All right,” she said sadly. She always hated the end of their phone conversations. “Kane…I love you.”

“Love you too, Angie. Always,” he replied before ending the call.

~*~*~*~

Randy hid as Kane exited his locker room. Once the coast was clear he crept in and found Kane's phone. He quickly checked the number last called memorizing it. He would pass it along to his private investigator to see what he could find on it.

Without realizing what he had done Randy pressed the send button. He didn't know what possessed him to do such a thing, but he couldn't bring himself to disconnect. The line began to ring until finally someone on the other end answered.

“Hello,” Angela said. “Kane? Is that you?” Upon hearing her voice Randy ended the call. He stared at the phone a moment before placing it back in Kane's bag and exiting the locker room.

~*~*~*~

Angela looked at the phone, the dial tone ringing in her ear. “That was odd,” she muttered. With a shrug she hung up and tried her best not to worry about it. It was probably a wrong number.

She tried desperately not to think that Randy might have found her. That thought was just…she didn’t want to think of what Randy would do if he found her now. It had been almost a month and a half since Undertaker and Kane snuck her out of the hospital.

With Randy’s temper she’d wind up in a fight for her life. Being out in the middle of nowhere that just didn’t thrill her. She shuddered, hugging her arms tightly around herself.

“It was a wrong number,” she muttered, silently chiding herself for being so paranoid. With a sigh she grabbed her cup of tea and brought it into the kitchen to refresh it.

~*~*~*~

Victoria sat in Rampage’s locker room, her head resting on her hand. Sadly she let out a little sigh. Rampage stopped his warm up routine and took a seat next to her, slipping an arm around her and pulling her close to him.

“I know you miss Angie,” he said softly. “Kane’s taking good care of her.”

“I know,” Victoria sighed. “I just miss being able to call her up and talk to her. I hate that I can’t even call my best friend.”

“Soon, baby, soon,” he said kissing her temple.

~*~*~*~

Angela had been dozing on the couch later that evening when she felt someone sit down next to her, brushing some hair out of her face. Her heart thudded in her chest. Her first thought was that Randy had finally found her. She opened her eyes slowly and saw Kane smiling down at her.

“What are you doing here,” she exclaimed, throwing herself into his arms.

“You said you missed your body warmer,” he chuckled, hugging her tightly. “Come on, let’s go to bed. We could both use some sleep.”

Angela looked up at him with a little smirk. “I can think of something better than sleeping,” she replied.

“Angie…I…are you sure? After what Randy put you through…I don’t want you to do anything you’ll regret,” he said.

Angela stood and took his hand urging him to his feet. Never letting go of his hand she led him into the bedroom. “You’re nothing like Randy, Kane,” she said. “I know you won’t hurt me.”

~*~*~*~

Outside the house Randy crept around to one of the windows, spying inside. He had phoned his private investigator and given him the phone number where Angela was. He had called him back not more than an hour later with an address.

His blood began to boil as she watched Angela and Kane entwined in each other’s arms, their bodies coated in a thin sheen of sweat. He watched as Angela looked up at Kane so lovingly. She had never once looked at him like that.

With a low growl he turned away from the window. He was going to get her back no matter what it took. He headed over to where he had hidden his car and settled in for the night. Angela and Kane would be occupied for the remainder of the night. Randy made the decision to just wait it out. He’d get to her when Kane left in the morning.

~*~*~*~

In the morning Kane woke with Angela in his arms. Looking down at her he smiled. He would be happy when he could take her out of hiding, but for now he made do with sneaking off to see her. Carefully he pulled himself free from her and dressed.

He hated to leave her like this, but he didn’t want a big teary goodbye. He cast a last look back at her sleeping form before leaving the bedroom. He was almost to the door when he heard the bedroom door open.

“You were going to leave without saying goodbye,” Angela asked. She had slipped on her robe before coming out of the bedroom.

“Angie,” he sighed. “I just didn’t want to see you crying.”

“Can you blame me,” she asked the tears already in her eyes. “You show up last night and…make love to me and then you were just going to leave.”

“Angie,” Kane said closing the distance between them and enveloping her in his arms. “I’m sorry. I was being selfish. I just hate to see you cry.” He looked at the clock and sighed. “I really do have to go, baby.”

She sighed sadly, but nodded. “We’ll be together again soon though, right,” she asked as she walked him to the door.

He smiled. “Yes,” he replied kissing her softly. “Soon.” With that he left.

She watched him get in his car and drive away before closing the door. Before it could click shut it was pushed open. Angela spun on her heel expecting to see Kane there. Her heart leapt into her throat when she came face to face with her husband.

“Honey, I’m home,” he said smiling sadistically at her.

“How did you find me,” she gasped, backing away from him.

“What’s the matter, Angie, not happy to see me,” he asked ignoring her question. “Wasn’t I a good husband?”

Angela scoffed at him. “Good husband,” she asked, no longer backing away from him. “Let’s think about this Randy. You drugged me and then married me, beat me, raped me repeatedly and tricked me into getting pregnant. THEN you fell on me when you forced me to come to the ring with you thus making me lose the baby. Oh yeah, Randy, you were a fantastic husband.”

“You little bitch,” he growled taking a step toward her. She didn’t back down, only glared at him defiantly. “Oh you’re not afraid of me anymore, huh?”

“I had some time to do some soul searching, Randy,” she replied. “And I figured something out.”

“What’s that,” he demanded.

“You’re not very smart,” she replied smirking. “I mean to pick a fight with KANE of all people. You’re just lucky most of the shit you guys do in that ring is scripted. Because quite frankly, you’d be up shit’s creek without a paddle if it wasn’t.”

“Keep running your mouth, Angie,” Randy growled, growing impatient.

“You’re not going to hurt me anymore, Randy,” Angela replied smiling.

“And why’s that,” he demanded.

“Because I won’t let you,” Kane replied. Randy spun around only to find himself throttled by the bigger man. “You just couldn’t stay away could you?” He dragged Randy out to the porch like that. “Get lost Orton or you won’t make it to Wrestlemania.” With that he tossed the younger man off the porch.

“This isn’t the end,” Randy yelled as he got to his feet. “You haven’t heard the last of me.” With that he ran off.

Kane turned his attention to Angela. She slipped an arm around his waist, smiling up at him. “Forgot my phone,” he said. “Good thing my memory is for shit, huh?”

“You could say that,” she replied. “Guess it’s not safe for me to stay here anymore.” She looked around frowning. She had grown used to the peaceful quietness. “Can you wait for me to pack up my things and get dressed?” Kane nodded. “Oh and while you're waiting give Shane and Stephanie a call. I want to make this a Wrestlemania Randy won't soon forget.”
