Response to Tainted Love ~Sequel to To Win Her Heart~ 1

{Chapter 13}

Wrestlemania finally rolled around. Kane never let Angela out of his sight in the days leading up to it. His distrust of Orton had grown substantially since the incident at the house.

When Angela and Kane arrived at the arena Victoria greeted them. She was just coming out of the women’s locker room when she saw Angela walking with Kane. The woman had been so excited to see her friend she had practically tackled her to the ground.

“Good to see you too, Vic,” Angela laughed.

“Oh my GOD! Angie! I though you were in hiding,” Victoria said. “What happened?”

“Orton happened,” Kane replied. “He found Angie.”

“I’m sick of hiding from him anyway,” Angela said placing a calming hand on Kane’s arm. “I’d feel much safer surrounded by the people I love and trust.

“Does that include me,” Edge asked joining the group.

“Of course, ya big lug,” Angela replied giving him a hug. “I’ve missed my favorite goofball.”

“Now when you said you love me,” Edge began with a smirk. Angela shot him a look and he held up his hands. “Can’t blame a guy for askin’.” Kane glared at him. “Relax, Red. I know she’s your girl. Angie and I are strictly friends now.”

“And it better stay that way,” Kane replied still glaring at him. His face finally broke into a smile and he chuckled. “Ah, I’m just yankin’ your chain. I know who Angie has eyes for.”

“And his initials are definitely not R-K-O,” Jason said smiling as he joined them. “Good to see you back, Angie,” he said giving her a quick hug. “So, big man, ready for your title match tonight?”

“Oh yeah,” Kane replied smirking.

“That reminds me,” Angela said. “We have to go meet with Shane.” Kane nodded, taking Angela’s hand and heading off to find Shane’s office.”

Randy was on the way to his locker room when he saw Angela at the catering table. He smirked and strolled over to her. She caught sight of him and groaned, rolling her eyes. “Would you get a fucking life already, Randy,” she said staring daggers at him.

“What’s the matter, Angie, no bodyguard,” he asked. “No back up? You mean they actually let you walk around where something can possibly happen to you?”

“Go ahead, Randy,” she said setting down her coffee, daring him to touch her. “I’m not afraid of you anymore. In fact, I actually pity you.”

“Pity me,” Randy scoffed. “And why is that, Angie?”

“Well, you’re just a sad, sad man. Think about it. In order to get married you had to drug me. In order to impregnate me you had to trick me with fake birth control. Do you see where I’m going with this, Randy? Should I use smaller words for that pea sized brain of yours,” she taunted.

“You fucking bitch,” Randy growled his hands balling into fists. He cocked back to punch her, but his hand was caught before it could get remotely near her. Randy turned his glare on whoever had stopped him and came face to face with the Undertaker.

“Boy, I KNOW you weren’t plannin’ on hittin’ this girl,” he rumbled lowly. He applied pressure to Randy’s fist. “I think you’d best be on your way, Orton.” He released Randy’s hand and glared at him.

“You got lucky this time,” he growled at Angela before going to find some ice for his hand.

Angela watched a moment as he headed off before turning her gaze to the Undertaker. “Not to sound like an ingrate, but you kind of stole my thunder there,” she said.

“Right,” he replied. “Because gettin’ punched in the face by a punk would have really proven a point.” He smiled and winked at her. “You’re welcome.” With that he walked away.

Angela shook her head, a smile on her face. She headed back to Kane’s locker room. Seeing her enter he smiled and motioned her over.

“Seems like I’ll have a bit of an advantage in my match tonight,” he said snickering. “Word through the grapevine is ‘Taker put a little hurtin’ on Orton.”

“He had it coming,” Angela said taking a seat in Kane’s lap. “He was trying to punch me because I pointed out some very hard truths to him.”

“I see,” Kane said smirking. “So, you were taunting the man and he reacted with violence.”

“Exactly,” Angela said. “Most men who overcompensate for their shortcomings do.”

The comment caught Kane off guard and he began to laugh. “I am so glad to have you back, baby,” he said still chuckling. “And as much as I love having you in my lap I have to get ready for my match.”

“That’s fine,” Angela replied. “I think I’ll go hang out in Jason’s locker room with Victoria.” With that she headed off to find her friend.

She made it to Jason’s locker room without incident and knocked before poking her head in. “Everyone decent,” she asked her eyes closed.

“Depends on what you mean by decent,” Edge replied smirking.

“Come on in, Angie,” Victoria said slapping his shoulder.

“What on Earth are you doing here,” Angela asked Edge with a smirk. “Come to watch the lovebirds making out? ‘Cause honestly that’s kinda sad.”

Victoria couldn’t help snickering. It was good to see Angela back to normal. She hated what Randy had turned her into.

“I am waiting for Jason to get his ass out here so I can kick it in the Money in the Bank match,” Edge replied feigning annoyance with her. He too was happy to see her joking around again.

“You wish, Blondie,” Jason said coming out of the bathroom. “I’m winning that damn briefcase tonight.”

“You might wanna rethink that, Jason,” Angela teased. He quirked a brow at her. “Think about who’s in the main event.”

“I can take Kane,” Jason replied. “And if Red doesn’t win then I KNOW I can take Randy.”

“Let’s go, Superman,” Edge said snickering.

“I’d rather be Superman than a Rated R for Retard Superstar,” Jason replied following Edge out of the locker room.

“Funny. You come up with that one by yourself or did you overhear Cena saying that,” Edge replied.

“Oh you wait until we get out in that ring,” Jason replied shoving Edge ahead of him as he snickered.

“Boys,” Victoria sighed rolling her eyes. Angela smiled and took a seat next to her to watch the show.

The two women chattered away during the show until Kane came knocking. “Angie, we gotta go,” he said. She nodded and followed him out into the hall. He looked nervous. “Are you sure you wanna do this?”

“Absolutely,” she replied smiling. “Randy’s had this coming for a long time, Kane.”

“All right, but just so you know I’m worried,” he replied. “A lot can go wrong. There’s no telling what Orton will do to you.”

“Come on, Red,” she said hooking her arm through his and urging him to walk to the Gorilla position. “Everything will be fine,” she said giving him a kiss before his music blared through the arena. “Go knock ‘em dead.”

~*~*~*~

Kane was already in the ring as Randy made his entrance. When he finally got to the ring William Regal came out onto the stage. Both men looked to him curious to see what he had to say.

“Gentlemen, I have just been informed by Mr. Shane McMahon that this will now be a no disqualification match,” Regal announced.

The crowd went insane at this news. Kane smirked, nodding his approval. Randy on the other hand was throwing a fit. This was not how he had envisioned his Wrestlemania title defense.

“What’s the matter, Orton,” Kane asked. “Afraid to play by my rules?”

“Ring the damn bell,” Randy growled at Mike Chioda.

~*~*~*~

By the time Angela decided to make a surprise appearance both men had bloodied each other up. As she headed down the ramp the fans booed, sure that she was coming to help Randy. When she made it to the ring she caught Randy’s attention. He attempted to exit the ring only to have Kane grab him, whipping him into the ropes for a boot to the face. Angela kept her face neutral as she watched the action.

Finally she saw her cue to get involved. Randy had just been shot into the ropes, but instead of bouncing off of them he put on the breaks, trying to regroup. Angela rummaged around under the ring for a weapon.

The crowd began to boo as she got up on the apron with a barbed wire bat in her hand. Randy was too busy catching his breath to even notice. With a smirk she slid the bat between Randy’s legs. He realized what was going on too late and let out a wail of pain as she brought the sharp metal up to meet his manhood. Still smiling she slowly slid the bat out, being sure the barbs jabbed and cut into his delicate flesh along the way before jumping down off the apron.

Randy crumpled in a heap in pain. Kane couldn’t help laughing. He had known that Angela would be involved in the match, but he had no idea what she had planned to do. Recovering he grabbed Randy pulling him to his feet. He grimaced when he saw rivulets of blood trickling down Randy’s thighs as he throttled him and hoisted him up for a chokeslam.

In too much pain to kick out Randy allowed himself to be pinned. The crowd erupted as Kane was handed the title. Angela got in the ring throwing herself into Kane’s awaiting arms.

~*~*~*~

“Holy shit,” was all Edge could say when Kane and Angela made their way to the back. “Remind me never to get on your bad side.” Jason and Victoria both nodded, though Victoria was smiling. Revenge certainly was sweet for Angela.

“Oh God,” Randy wailed as he was rolled past them on a stretcher. “The bitch tore up my nuts!”

“You deserve worse for what you did to her,” Edge replied.

Angela followed the stretcher to the medic station. “Poor Randy,” she said shaking her head.

“What do you want,” he demanded, still wailing in pain.

“I want a divorce, darling,” she replied. The word darling was spoken with venom as if it had a bad taste coming out of her mouth. Randy opened his mouth to protest, but she stopped him. “And if you refuse, well, you’ve already lost your baby, your wife and your title. I’d hate to see you lose your career as well.”

“What the hell are you talking about,” Randy demanded.

“You see, Randy, if you don’t grant me a divorce I’ll go to every media outlet you can think of with my story,” she replied. “That kind of publicity would certainly reflect poorly on the WWE and I’m guessing you’ll get your walking papers faster than you can say R-K-O.”

“You’ll get your fucking divorce,” he growled. “Just stay the fuck away from me.”

“You can bet on it,” Angela replied with a smile. “I’ll have my lawyer send over the papers as soon as possible. No sense dragging this out.” With that she headed back to her friends to celebrate Kane’s victory and Jason winning the Money in the Bank match.

{Chapter 14}

The divorce went through as quickly as possible and Angela was once again a free woman. She had one last parting gift for Randy. Two if you counted the basket of peroxide and bandages she had sent him after Wrestlemania.

Shortly after the divorce was finalized Randy received a small package. When he opened it he saw that it was Angela’s wedding band, though it appeared that someone had taken a sledgehammer to it. He looked down at the mangled band of gold in his hand and sighed.

Upon returning to in ring action Angela found herself embroiled in a short program with Victoria. Both women vying for a shot at Beth Phoenix’s women’s title. Eventually Victoria won out becoming the number one contender.

Randy never bothered Angela again after Wrestlemania. He actually avoided any contact with her at all. He went so far as to turn tail and go the other way when he saw her coming.

Jason cashed in his Money in the Bank at the very next pay-per-view and made a valiant effort to relieve Kane of his title. In the end he came up just short. After the match Kane had shaken Jason’s hand in the ring, showing his friend some much deserved respect for the match they had just had.

Jason and Victoria were together and still going strong, enjoying their first year of marriage. Though both were focused on their careers the subject of children had come up a few times. They both agreed to give their marriage a chance to flourish before bringing a child into it.

~*~*~*~

Kane entered the house quietly. It had been a grueling week for him, but he was once again home with the woman he loved. When he arrived at the bedroom he saw Angela asleep. The sliver of moonlight coming through the blinds illuminated her sleeping form and he smiled.

Setting his bag down he kicked off his shoes and slid into bed pulling her to him. She sighed contentedly and melted into his touch. Kane was unable to believe the events of the past year. It seemed almost impossible that this woman was once again in his arms. He kissed her lightly on the neck, causing her to stir.

Rolling onto her back she fluttered her eyes open and smiled up at him. “You’re home,” she said yawning. “What time is it?”

“After three,” he replied. “Go back to sleep, Angie.”

With another yawn, she nodded rolling back onto her side so that he could spoon with her. She rested her head on the pillow falling asleep almost instantly. Kane held her in his arms, closing his eyes. Sleep overtook him not long after Angela.

He awoke in the morning to Angela softly kissing him. “Wakey, wakey,” she said softly.

“Morning,” he said through a yawn. “You sleep well?”

She nodded. “Always do when you’re home.”

“And how’s the little one,” he asked reaching out and placing a hand on Angela’s swollen belly.

She had only been back on the active roster about a month when Angela found out that she was once again pregnant. This time she was happy to know it was Kane’s. Clear to both of them it was the result of their night at the house.

“Healthy,” she replied opening the draw on the nightstand and pulling out an ultrasound picture. She handed it to him and smiled. “Say hello to your son.”

“A son,” he said gazing down at the picture in his hand. A wide smile spread across his lips. “Well, at least one good thing came from everything Orton put you through.” He placed a hand on her stomach, smiling when he felt the baby kick.

“Two good things,” she replied, placing her hand over his. He quirked a brow at her. “Our son and our relationship becoming stronger than ever.” He nodded, placing a soft kiss on her lips.
