      Chapter 12

Stopping in the hallway as JD leaned me against a nearby wall. “You’re part demon?” He mumbled. Slowly I nodded my head as I looked to him. “That’s not of the discussion right now JD. Just help me to get to the priest of this church, drape my trench coat over me, I don’t need him knowing I’m part demon. Even though him and I somewhat see eye to eye.” JD sighed heavley as he nodded his head as he helped me down to the priest’s office, after draping my trench coat over me. JD knocked upon the door as I leaned against him for balance. I could slowly feel my life draining from my wounds. If I wasn’t treated I couldn’t save the Lord. But at this moment, I rather sacrifice myself to save him, than to have him leave the group once again. I always told Lord Calloway I would always place the group and him before my needs, that’s how I was trained to think before even being brought to him to be at his side for the rest of eternity.

Movement could be heard on the other side of the door as the door slowly creaked open as a set of blue eyes peeked out from between the door frame and the door itself. “May I help...” Was the only words I heard as I looked to the man. “It’s me Father... Please open up I must speak with you.” The door opened with a gasp as the man came into full view. He had changed, getting ready to leave for the night. “Elias what happen?” He motioned JD to help me into his office. JD helped me in as I was seated upon a chair. I groaned in pain as JD stood back as the Father knelt before me, placing his hands upon my knees, “What’s going on Elias?”

I sighed as I looked to him, “Father Chris. I must ask for that favor you owe me. It’s of the utmost importance.” Nodding his head, “I will help out the best I can Elias. But you first must explain what is going on so then I might know how to help.” Sighing as I go on to explain in very little detail as possible to get Father Chris to fully understand the situation. Running a hand through his short blonde hair as he slowly stood to his feet, “Of course you may stay here as long as you like Elias. For the next two weeks the church will be vacant cause of the holidays. I will make sure you are not disturbed. Only one that will come and go once in awhile, will be myself. But your secret is safe with me. You know that.” I nodded my head gently, “I owe you big for this Father Chris.” Shaking his head, “No you don’t Elias. I’m happy to do some work for the right of a good purpose. You’ve saved our church many of times over the years. It’s about time we returned you a favor for you services.” Slowly I tried to get up as JD caught me in his arms.

Father Chris stepped up as he looked to the wounds, “These blades need to come out or you will bleed to death Elias.” I shook my head, “No my friend is first. Where might we stay for the time being Father?” Placing his hand under his chin, rubbing it in thought. “If you need warmth, my quarters, which I never use is available. If you need cold and darkness. Here would be the best spot. I do not know what you need.” “They both need warmth and darkness.” JD piped in as he adjusted Elias in his arms. Father Chris nodded his head, “Well my quarters is the best place. We can make it dark in there. It’s in the back of the church, in a secluded place. Nobody will not bother nobody nor hear you. I made sure of that before I took on the duties here in the church.” JD nodded, “That’s perfect Father. We appreciate your contributions.” Father Chris nodded his head, “You two stay here. I’ll go set up the room. Then you can do whatever you like. I will leave you to your problem.” His eyes looking to Elias, “You know how to get a hold of me if you need anything.” I nodded my head as JD settled me into the chair. “Thank you Father Chris.” “No thanks is needed. Glad to help. Let me go get the room set up.” With that he left.

Sighing as JD looked to Master Eli. “Don’t ask JD. Go alert the group of what is going on. I’ll be out in a moment.” “Let me help you mend your wounds Master...” I shook my head as I reached up and pulled one blade out, yelping in pain as I held the bloody blade in my hand. “No I got it. Go and do as you’re told JD.” He nods his head with a faint sigh and leaves to alert the rest of the group. Dropping the bloody blade to the floor, slowly climbing to my feet. I made my way to the back of the church, to Father Chris’ quarters.

Opening the door to the massive room of darkness and warmth, like Father Chris described. I knew this was the place to hopefully bring Lord Calloway back to his normal self. It would take every available source I could muster, but it would be well worth it in the end. Father Chris was gone, like he said he would be. Slowly stepping into the hallway as JD led the group to the room, carrying Lord Calloway gently upon their shoulders. Standing to the side as I lowered my head, giving instructions. “Place him gently upon the bed. I will tend to him from there.”
Following the group, once they entered the room. They gently laid him upon the bed, “Leave us. I must do this alone. Sir Layfield and Sir Batista are in charge until we return. You are all dismissed back to the mansion.” With that everybody left the room, returning to the mansion.
