A friend of mine found your message while searching my dad's name online. My father is George Nasse. He died in April of this year. I can tell you more about him if you'd like. He is also in a picture often shown when pictures from Iwo Jima are displayed. I went to see Flags of Our Fathers last night with my brother (it would have been my dad's 82nd birthday) and they showed the picture at the end. He was a great father. I'd love to know more about the flag.

One of the names listed was my father, Sid Gerenstein. He served in Iwo Jima and was stationed in Japan after the war. Would it be at all possible for you to photograph this flag and e-mail me the photos? My brother and sisters and I would love to see the whole flag, as well as our Dad's signature on the flag.
It was very emotional for us to see your post, our father died in 1969.
