I joined the immunology support group on Yahoo to both find answers and a list of docs that can do full testing for my issues. My karyotyope and Fragile X came back as all clear (although I'm still requesting a full report myself).
My next step is immune testing and I don't trust anyone locally here in Texas to be aggressive enough in testing and there don't seem to be many options at all anyways. I've obviously found Dr Beer but also read a number of negative reviews both here and elsewhere.
Dr Coulam in Chicago is one option and then found Dr Braverman in New York. He used to be the medical director of SIRM NY. He has a forum, answers questions through email and forum before you ever even have to see him and seems to follow up with every single patient personally. I've read reviews that he's similar to Dr Check in the mad scientist style without the horrible front office. He also emails patients after the first meeting to summarize the appt and the issues that they discussed. He emails your protocol, emails articles and research specific to your situation. I've read of women who searched for articles themselves and had no luck, and ended up sitting in his office for an hour or more while they poured over articles and data just to find her an answer. That impressed me.
I have no idea how expensive he is and if he's someone for me yet, but I know that we talk about finding someone that seems to "fit" you and something draws me to him. He specializes in reproductive immunology AND recurrent pregnancy loss, and if anyone remembers my story I'm 28 with 5 very early losses and no children over a period of 4 years. I also have endo which apparently is a sign that you have immune issues (around 65% connection if you have endo)
He seems to be a mini Doogie Howser- He started college at NYU at 14 years old!
Has anyone heard ANYTHING about him, negative or positive? Any reviews, tips, advice about this doc?
