Response to What factors were important to you when you chose your donor?

I would second all of the things the previous posters mentioned. I definitely took a close look at medical history and did also end up going with a twice proven 22 year old donor. Ultimately though what I wanted to find was some sort of connection. We're in the tell camp, and I knew I wanted to be able to point to some things in the profile years from now that I could share with my child. In this case, it was silly things like that she loves cats and hates scary movies (as do I!)in addition to a good health history. But I also want to share the best words of wisdom I got from one of the many wonderful women on this board when I was struggling with the donor decision. She said, "I don't think you will ever second guess your choice because that would mean second guessing the child who is in your life." And now that I am nearing my due date with this wonderful, miracle child (possible only thanks to my donor), I can say with complete honesty that she was right. Best of luck to you with this difficult decision. But know that once you make it, you'll be so excited to move forward with this process and hopefully have your baby soon!
