You do get some information from pictures. Not everything--but if you see the person and they look really happy & stuff...if there's a light in their eye, I would take that as good info.
So there is info in pics.
Also, I guess I don't have that feeling like the donor is the 'mother.'
I don't have a strong feeling that genetics are important but this is due to my own personal history where there are people with genetics like mine and I don't feel like they are my 'family' but other people w/out those genetics ARE my family.
This is multiplied mani-fold when you start out with people as a baby. This is what I know from my own life.
