Get the attorney to be the bad guy. That's what I did. I had her do the negotiating with the agency. Even though I negotiate for a living, I had my heart into it, and was too unreasonably scared of things blowing up that I was would not have been an effective negotiator for myself. That's why I had someone else do it.
