Since we live in a Country where egg donation is strrictly regulated we had to find our own donor. There aren't in house donors are donor agencies either so it isn't as easy to find a donor. We decided early on the things that were important to us in a donor but being proven or not was not a deal breaker...in fact the women who responded to my ad for an egg donor that were proven were quite demanding and it seemed to be more about the money than anything...which I understand but after doing cycle after cycle who is to say that these donors aren't going to have a bad cycle. In my opinion, young or old, hyperstimulating ovaries is hard on the body and I wanted someone who was healthy and in balance.
So when our 22 year old donor contacted us, and she was such a match to our list of wants...when we found out she was unproven that was great....we were learning the ropes together and our clinic was so wonderful at walking us through everything step by step.
Our first fresh ended in a chemical pgcy..but our 2 FET's were succesful....with our beautiful DS conceived after our first FET and with our 2nd FET...twin girls due soon...AND we still have 2 high quality blasts frozen if we wanted more...so I'd say unproven for us worked... it was a perfect fit for us.
