they are working with another pharmacy (Apothecary, something or other) which is actually compounding the lupron. I too am supposed to start tomorrow (Tuesday) and it is being delivered to me in the morning. Since I am traveling, they were not able to send it over the weekend because I was not going to be in one place long enough to make sure that I was in place to receive the package. I was told that since it is compounded, I will need to refrigerate it. I did not have to refrigerate for my 1st cycle, but it was leuprolide and not compounded. I just hope that it arrives tomorrow as scheduled. I should be doing the injections in the morning, according to my nurse, but since the drug will not be here until possibly 5 pm, I have been told to do the injection as soon as I get the package and then to move my injections to the morning on the following day.
What an annoyance this has been, and yet another example of how the control of this process is often out of our hands. UGH! |
