You are probably looking at the drawing up needle, which is what is used to extract the medicine into the syringe. Then, you CHANGE the needles. There are varying sizes. Believe it or not, the longer, the less painful, but they are much smaller and finer than the drawing up needle monster.
I fainted the first time I saw the drawing up needle in my nurse's office.
Now, I can totally do these injections. They don't hurt! It's really a mind game.
You are much stronger than you realize.
