I have been hashimotos for years, and in preparing for a new cycle, my tsh just jumped. We are doing a full panel (free T3,etc), but in the meantime, my good GP upped my synthroid does from 100 to 112.
Here is my question:
I lost MAJOR hair last year when I bumped my thyroid meds up a tiny bit (taking an extra pill once a week). I am still pretty thin around the temples.
The GP suggested that when she has patients on synthroid who experience hair loss, sometimes levoxyl works better. She also said we can try adding cytomel (T3), depending on my bloodwork.
Any feedback? I want to make the change asap, as we are hoping to transfer in mid September, and as you know, it takes a while to get thyroid things up to speed.
Should I switch to levoxyl at 112? Or just the synthroid at 112?
