Response to Actually, you do need someone with RI background
I started out getting a number of tests ordered through my cooperative ob/gyn's nurse practitioner, but when the results came in, they had no idea how to interpret them or what to advise. When I finally sought out an immune-issue friendly RE, some of the tests weren't the right ones (NKs in particular) & the testing was incomplete. Almost all of it had to be re-run. For me, even an immune issue friendly RE wasn't enough. I stayed with my RE but I ended up at the Beer Center for immune issues.
Unfortunately, you will need to do a lot of self-education in this area. It's important to understand the pros & the cons. The testing & treatment can be expensive & hard to obtain if you're doing it long distance, & even with well-versed doctors, you have to have an understanding of what's going on & to self-advocate. I learned those lessons the hard way
I wish you the best, SouthernQueen. I know well how difficult this road is, should it be one you end up going down.
