clinic regulations post surgery

I am flying to L.A. to see Dr. March next week to have the hysteroscopy. I guess they put you under anesthesia for that. After the procedure they will not release you alone, or to a taxi cab driver. They said you have to have someone you know with you. My spouse can't go with me, and I don't know anyone who lives in L.A. So, they said that you could spend the night in some nursing facility, but its very expensive, about $800 a night. I do not know if my insurance (Aetna) would pay for any of that. Is there any way around their regulations, like signing a disclaimer form that I am fully responsible if I leave the clinic alone after surgery?
