That a gift seems to be expected over there considering the fact that donors are paid for their eggs. Enough, it would seem, to be able to fly around the world!
It is very different over here in NZ, in that the donors volunteer and are not paid. In fact, it is illegal here I think to pay them. We have funding for treatment in some cases although that means a long wait most of the time.
My sister will most likely be my donor and she seems as happy as I am about being able to do this for me. I will have many opportunities to thank her all my life which I think is lovely.
