I know it must be scary, Maggie, but try not to worry too much. You won't know for sure until you go in, but you could have a subchorionic hemorrhage (SCH), which is a bleed between the chorion (outer membrane of the gestational sac) and the uterine wall. It's very common, especially in IVF pregnancies, and although it's traumatic to see all that blood (believe me, I know!), it often resolves without further complication. Do a search on here for SCH and you'll find A LOT of information from these knowledgeable ladies. I had one two weeks ago and was in an absolute panic, but so far, everything has been fine...
