I'm cycling at an out of state clinic and retrieval is tomorrow. It's one day later than expected, which is not a big deal. However the delay screws up my flight schedule as well as my lodging plans (I'd have to move to a hotel from my current rental). My clinic wants me to have 36 hrs of bed rest. If I stick with my travel schedule I'll only be getting 18 hrs of bed rest. I know there isn't any evidence that bed rest makes a difference, but I am nervous about deviating from my doctor's recommendations.
I think I'm going to push ahead with my original plans (and the abbreviated bed rest). My husband and daughter are at home and I miss them. I think it will be more stressful to stay away longer and to have to switch flights and hotels.
I'm looking for success stories despite less-than-ideal bed rest, but if there are cautionary tales, I'll take those too

Bottom line: I don't want to mess up this cycle.
For those of you who have been through this, how do you retain any sanity during the home stretch? I'm so sick of this process that I want to be done already. I even am thinking that we should just transfer 2 embies to give us the best chance and counteract any negative effects of my getting on a plane 18 hrs after transfer. I most likely won't go that route (we strongly prefer a singleton) but I'm getting less rational the closer we get to retrieval + transfer.
