I am not sure what I will do, I do think there is some autoimmune component, but the treatments do not sound so positive. I am going to increase my fish oil intake and consider asking about sjogrens, just to make sure I don't injure my eyes. I have had problems with my eyes since I had a terrible flu in my late 20s (it may have been mono) which took months to get over...and that is pretty much when my thyroid went out, etc. I just don't want the dryness to cause damage to my corneas.
I am sorry we are both going through so much pain.
