Response to DE moms over 45: Does the self-consciousness go away when the baby comes?

I gave birth at 44 so I was pregnant at 43. I now have a one year old at 45. I can remember being quite self conscious to be pregnant at 43. I did receive a few joking comments from friends. After the baby was born nobody said anything about it anymore. Actually people ask me when or if I am going to have another. And I have run into several moms that I have met out in the community that had their babies later than me. I have no idea how they got pregnant.

It actually feels extremely normal to me to have a baby at 45 now that I am used to having a baby. I am no longer self conscious about being an older mom at all. Just take one day at a time and go with it happy.gif Personally, I do not think I would feel any different about having a baby at 45 then having one at 44.
